20 years ago on May 17th 1994, on the eve of the 81st anniversary of his birth Nicolás Gómez Dávila died in Bogota, a scholiast and an essayist, a traditionalist fideistic Catholic, a representative of the "Romanesque" style in Catholicism, an implacable enemy of the antropotheistic heresy of democracy, an "authentic reactionary".
