Wiesław Chrzanowski
90 years ago , 20th of December 1923 – Wiesław Marian Chrzanowski, was born in Warsaw, a lawyer , journalist and a politician , associated with the All-Polish Youth and the National Party from young age, a soldier of the National Military Organization (NOW) and the Home Army (AK), fought in the Warsaw Uprising ( and was wounded ) in the "Harnas" battalion, after 1945 associated with the Labour Party , the Christian Youth Association , the "Refuge " (President ) and the “Warsaw Weekly " (editor of Kolumna Młodych ) ; arrested for the first time in 1946 , and again in 1948 and sentenced to eight years in prison ( came out in 1955) , as a result of being unable to work as lawyer , he took up the cooperative law , since 1965, a close associate of Primate Stefan Wyszyński , a political (ideological) patron of the Young Poland Movement and an advisor to the "Solidarity ", a co-founder and president ( 1989-1994 ) of the Christian National Union (ZChN) , Minister of Justice (01-12 1991) , Marshal of the Sejm (lower house of the Polish parliament) in the first term ( 1991-1993 ) , a Senator in a fourth term on behalf of Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS) (1997-2001 ) ; awarded the Polish Order of Polonia Restituta (1993 ) , the Order of the White Eagle (2005 ) and the papal Order of St. Gregory the Great (2010), a honorary member of the Conservative Club in Łódź; the most prominent representative of the national-Catholic thought in post-war Poland. He died in 2012.
