25 years ago, on the 30th of January 1989 at the age of 52, Prince Alfonso Bourbon , Duke of Burgundy, Cadiz and Anjou ( prince Alphonse- Jacques Marcellin – Emmanuel -Victor- Marie de Bourbon, duc de Bourgogne, duc de Cadix , duc d'Anjou ; spanish . don Alfonso Jaime Marcelino Manuel Víctor María de Borbón y Dampierre , duque de Cádiz ), a son of prince James Henry Bourbon , the legitimist king of France and Navarre by law James II (a.k.a Henry VI ) died in a skiing accident ( a steel rope , in which he was tangled up, cut his throat ) in Beaver Creek (Colorado, USA ) , born in Rome and baptised by Pope Pius XII , married the granddaughter of Gen. F. Franco – María del Carmen Martínez- Bordiú ( divorced in 1982 ) ; in the years 1970-73 , an Ambassador of Spain in Stockholm, then president of the Spanish Cultural Institute , also a president of the Spanish Skiing Federation and the Spanish Olympic Committee , from the death of his father ( 20th of March 1975) the legitimist king of France and Navarre by law Alfonso II; a father of the present king by law Louis XX.
