Jean -Claude Valla
70 years ago, May 16th 1944, Jean -Claude Valla was born in Roanne near Saint- Étienne, a journalist, publicist and a historian; in his youth a member of the Nationalist Federation of Students (FEN) and a collaborator of Europe – Action, then one of the main animators of the New Right (Nouvelle droite), as a co-founder (1968) of GRECE ( Groupement de recherche et d'études pour la civilization européenne ) and its Secretary-General in the years 1973-1978 , a Director of the Copernic (1976-1978) publishings, an editor-in- chief of the Elements (1973-1978 ) quarterly and the first editor of the Figaro Magazine (1978-1980); an associate of Valeurs actuelles (1970-1973), Hebdo Magazine (1983-1985) and the monthly Marianne (1985-1986); after his departure from GRECE (1986) an editor of the Minute (1993-1990) weekly and (since 2002) an associate of Dominique Venner’s La Nouvelle reve d' histoire. An author of biographies of national revolutionaries (Ledesma Ramos,Valois,Doriot) as well as works on the collaboration of the socialists and the Jews with the Nazis.He died of cancer in 2010.
