Helmut Schelsky
30 years ago, on 24th of February 1984 Helmut Schelsky died in Münster at the age of 71, a sociologist, he studied philosophy , German , history and history of art, since 1932 a member of the SA, since 1933 of National Socialist Union of Students ( NSDStB ), and since 1937 the NSDAP; as ( since 1940 ) Arnold Gehlen's assistant, and then Hans Freyers', he co-founded along with them the so called Leipzig School , opposing the neo-Marxist School of Frankfurt, after the war (from 1949) a professor of sociology in Hamburg, later in Münster and Dortmund, the founder of the interdisciplinary research center in Rheda called the "German Princeton"; classified as a mainstream “technekratic conservative" (not "technocratic" but drawing attention to the phenomenon of impersonal domination of technology); a critic of the "priestly" power of intellectuals seeking to discredit the moral authority of the state, especially within the "therapeutic" psychological elite "of the new class" within it.
