Kierując się prośbą Bractwa Kapłańskiego Świętego Piusa X w Wielkiej Brytanii, zamieszczamy poniższy apel Sióstr z Lanherne;
Klasztor Lanherne, niegdyś będący domem rodziny Arundell, pozostaje od wieków szczególnym miejscem modlitwy i kontemplacji. Po zachęcie, jakim był papieski dokument motu proprio "Summorum Pontificum”, nadany całemu Kościołowi w 2007 roku, wspólnota sióstr, które zamieszkują jego mury prowadząc życie kontemplacyjne, sprawuje swoją Liturgię godzin uczestnicząc we Mszy Świętej w rycie trydenckim.
Są One szczęśliwymi strażnikami bardzo cennej relikwii pierwszej klasy: czaszki św. Cuthbert’a Mayne, który zginął śmiercią męczeńską za wiarę w czasie reformacji. Potajemnie odprawiał On Mszę w Lanherne, spełniając swą duszpasterską powinność wobec miejscowych katolików.
Niestety, stary klasztor wymaga bardzo pilnych napraw. Dlatego apelujemy o pomoc, tak, aby lampa Sanktuarium w Kościele, która nie została ugaszona do setek lat, dalej mogła się tlić i aby siostry mogły pozostać w Lanherne, modląc się i pokutując dla całego świata.
Siostry liczą na hojną pomoc, aby zachować zabytkowy budynek w Lanherne – miejsce modlitwy kontemplacyjnej. Nie otrzymują one żadnego dofinansowania ze źródła innego, aniżeli nasi dobrodzieje. Dary przeznaczone będą na utrzymanie zabytkowego budynku, pozwalając tym samym w dalszym ciągu otwierać jego podwoje jako domu modlitwy i kultu .

The Monastery of Lanherne, which used to be the home of the Arundell family, has been special place of prayer and contemplation for centuries. Following the encouragement given to the whole Church in 2007 by the Motu Proprio “Summorum Pontificum,” the community of nuns, who live their contemplative life there, pray their Divine Office and participate at the Holy Mass in the Tridentine Rite.
They are the fortunate custodians of the precious first-class relic of the skull of St. Cuthbert Mayne, who was martyred for his faith during the time of the Reformation. He celebrated Mass secretly at Lanherne and ministered to the local Catholics during that time.
Sadly, however, the old Monastery is very much in need of urgent repairs. Therefore we appeal for your help, so that the Sanctuary lamp in the Church, which has not been extinguished for 100s of years, may always be kept alight, and that the sisters may remain at Lanherne to pray there and do penance for the whole world.
The sisters rely on your generous help to keep the historic building at Lanherne a place of contemplative prayer. They do not receive any funding from any source other than our benefactors. Your kind donations will go towards the maintenance of the historic building allowing them to keep it open as a house of prayer and worship.
