10 years ago , on February 1st 2004 at the age of 88 Álvaro d' Ors y Pérez- Peix died in Pamplona, a historian and theorist of jurisprudence , a world famous Romanist , an expert on Roman law in Egypt, Visigoth , juristic , canon and civil law , a traditionalist political philosopher , a son of a trilingual ( Catalan , Castilian and French ) writer, philosopher and promoter of Franco's cultural policy Eugenia d' Orsa s Roviry ( 1881-1954 ) and the sculptor María Pérez- Peix , a head of the Department of Roman Law at the Universities of Granada (1943-45 ) , Santiago de Compostela ( 1945-1960 ) and Navarra ( 1961-1993 and since 2004 its honorary Professor ) , a visiting professor of Italian , Portuguese and German universities, member of numerous academies and scientific societies, Spanish, French , Italian, German and Argentine ; Dr. of honoris causa at Universities in Toulouse , Coimbra and Rome ( La Sapienza ) ; highly decorated , including the Cross of Alfonso X the Wise and the Grand Cross of St . Raymond de Penaforte ; a carlist – an adviser of the legitimist king de jure Xavier I ( D. Javier de Borbón – Parma) , yet unusual because a 'schmittian' ( and a personal friend of Carl Schmitt ) , expanding especially on the " public enemy " theory, fell ill after the death (2003 ) of his wife ( and mother of their eleven children ) Palmyra Lois.
