1000 years ago , on February 3rd 1014, at about the age of 54 – Sweyn I Forkbeard ( Danish: Svend Tveskæg , Norw . Svein Tjugeskjegg , called Svein Forkbeard ) had died in Gainsborough ( Lincolnshire , England ); son of the first Christian king of Denmark , Harald Bluetooth and son-in-law of a Polish prince Mieszko I , the father of Canute the Great , from 986 or 987 king of Denmark and Norway ( Norwegian throne temporarily lost in the years 995-1000 to Olaf I Tryggvasson, in 1013 conquered England and on 25th of December 1013 was crowned king of England, after death his body was cooked and the skin separated from the bones so that it may be transported to Denmark and buried in the cathedral of Roskilde. Whether he secretly favoured the pagan religion of his ancestors is a contentious issue of dispute.
